A new teenager in the house. Jayvee made it to thirteen on Monday. I bought him two new computer games but it was a wasted effort since he’s totally addicted to Nexon’s Combat Arms. Not my kind of game, but then right now I don’t have any game I’m much enjoying. I spend most time with Evony, but am fairly bored with it and don’t know why I continue playing.
Except for some lingering chest congestion, troublesome during the night, the flu is gone. Perhaps it was a warning to get a flu shot this fall. Fortunately, the boys were not hit nearly as severely and are both okay now.
Dream life is so much more interesting than waking life right now, I don’t know why I bother to get out of bed.

In a welcome development, foodstamps and Medicaid are approved for an entire year. Given the unlikelihood of changes in my circumstances, it’s about time. But for some unknown reason, Landlady lied about the rent, said it was $450 instead of $500. So foodstamps reduced from $200 to $180. I have no idea whatever why she did it.
Oh well, at least I won’t have to face those massive forms again until next April, if I’m still around.

The Royal College of Psychiatry says there is no such thing as Post Influenza Depression. Well, I disagree.
I was saddened by the news of Lena Horne’s death. A beautiful woman, fine actress with a great voice and style. She’ll rarely be equaled, will never be surpassed.

Sorry to say, but May is off to a terrible start. Fourth day bedridden with the flu.

Dame Fortune has been unusually mean to me in April 2010. I hope the Merrie Olde Month of May puts her in a more benevolent mood.

I hope everyone had a pleasant Easter. It rained nonstop all day here and continues to do so. We really don’t need “April showers bring May flowers” here, because we have flowers all the time.
The older I get, the less I believe in the Christian story. I thought with ancient age, grace would finally find me, but no, I still find Ishtar, the Babylonian goddess of fertility easier to believe. And I celebrate the pagan aspects, like giving the boys chocolate bunnies. I mean, it is Spring, and of course we would have festivals and customs to celebrate its arrival.

Such a strange dream. I and my old friend Felix went to visit someone in Finland. Not a wish fulfillment dream, for sure, because I never had the least desire to visit Finland. I thought it must have been winter because it got dark very early, but our host said it was spring and wasn’t it wonderful to have more daylight.
I realized I had a down jacket but hadn’t even brought a sweater. Felix and I were wondering where we could go to buy some cigarettes. Why we hadn’t bought duty-free ones before beginning our trip, I don’t know.
I dozed off, woke and asked our host if his girlfriend would mind us being there. She was sitting on the other side of the room, said “not at all”.
Yes, definitely a strange dream.
Ain’t Aries wunnerful.

Sex-filled dream last night. Three men I’ve never actually known. Must be premature Spring Fever.
Well, the Olympics and the Oscars are behind us. I was happy with the Games but far less so with the Academy. I think they snubbed Avatar out of pure jealousy. And sorry, I just don’t like Sandra Bullock.
Now the main television focus is on American Idol. This is the first season I have watched it, having gotten fascinated by Simon Cowell via clips of Britain’s clone, X-Factor. Very entertaining show although I’m nervous about three favorite young men this week since everyone has to sing a Rolling Stones song. (Never mind the Idol backing band just isn’t up to it.)
I do hope Aaron Kelly opts for “Angie”.

The fun of Facebook:
Albert Vanderburg: “It will surprise lots of people when they see how affordable Arcadia is.” $165,000 is affordable to lots of people???
Albert Vanderburg: Reminds me. I dreamed last night I was rushing around trying to borrow $20. No luck. Even Kory K was broke (or claimed to be).
Deb Jensen: you can’t get a garage for that here.
·
Patricia Hayes: CANT GET A DUNNY HERE
·
Michael J Wise: you can get a large car for that here, but that’s about it.
·
Kory Kurokawa: hey, i just bought a house and have a kid on the way… no money here!
