My long-time source for “free” tobacco is no longer. I was horrified to see the new display cases with glass doors and big padlocks. I guess I wasn’t the only one helping myself. Oh well, in the long run, I’m glad. No more long journies there for a packet of rolling tobacco. But it was a sorry sight on the last day of September and I had to borrow ten dollars from Landlady to avoid a day with no smokes.

On the first of October I was fretting on the bus, worried that the Fabled Pension Check funds might not be there. Wasted energy since not only were they there, but SocSec arrived early, too. Seems somehow a little scarey to have all resources in on the first, especially in a 31-day month.

I was so disappointed with the new “Hawaii Five-0″ that I experimented, watching the prime time shows on the three major networks. I never see them so needed some base for comparison. Actually, Five-0 is better than I thought. Only NCIS on CBS was better.

Very happy to see the comment on the previous Tale from Andy Jones. Andy is my MUD2 friend from the eighties. Glad we’re both still chugging along.
