We’re having a heatwave, a tropical heatwave … All week it has gone into Mister Fahrenheit’s 90′s. Two days it surpassed the previous high temp record for the date.
And in a not-very-amusing twist of irony, I have a chest cold. [cough, cough].
Oh well, since the last hospital adventure, my health has been pretty good so I really shouldn’t complain.
As I tell myself while complaining greatly.
I’ve been having a major debate with myself. Is spending time in fantasy unwise or even unhealthy? I’ve always suffered from what could be called the Aladdin’s Lamp malady. My version of that now is somehow getting a legacy which would give me $20,000 each month via a pre-paid VISA card.
Speaking of which, my bank invited me to apply for one of the things. So I did, since it was on-line and not much trouble. I knew they would say no, which they did.
But I did think their reason was a bit weird. It was because I don’t have enough “revolving credit” accounts. Well, how am I supposed to get one if they won’t give me one to begin with???
I did hope they’d give me one with a thousand dollar limit, small time. Oh well.
I’d just love to have a computer in my own little room with net access. I figure I could manage that for five hundred.
Anyone want to help?
Meanwhile, on the domestic front, I did of course speak up. A man visited from the agency, who rarely visits, and after a cordial greeting I asked him what he was going to do about “him”, gesturing to the Dreadful Man’s room.
“What do you want me to do?”
“Get him out of here.”
He said they had decided to leave it up to Landlady. If she wants him out, he will go.
She seems to have decided to give the Dreadful Man a second chance, with orders to never enter the Old Lady’s room.
[sigh]
